Courses Dates
The next course will not be run until January/February 2011. However, early applications will still be accepted. Please contact Kari Moana Kururangi for details.
Who can Apply?
Aoraki Bound is open to all New Zealanders aged 18 years and over, of medium to high fitness level. Please note that final acceptance on to a course is subject to Outward Bound receiving and approving the medical declaration form and Te Rūnanga o Ngāi Tahu receiving full payment of the course fee six weeks prior to course commencement.
Funding Your Course
Course fees are $4400.00 + GST ($4950.00). However, we do not want cost to prevent any person from participating. Some support funding is available with criteria, so please contact Kari Moana Kururangi for more information.
Raising Funds for Your Course
There are many ways people pay for their courses. If funds are your barrier to attending, we are here to help you. We will take you through the process of raising your course fees. There are three steps to follow:
- Your contribution – from savings, family/friends, your employer or fundraising activities
- Your community – service clubs, interest groups, local businesses
- Financial support – accessed through Te Rūnanga o Ngāi Tahu on your behalf

If you are seeking sponsorship you need to apply six weeks before your course. Please contact us to discuss any aspect of payment or funding.
Deposit
To be enrolled on a course we require $195 deposit. This can be paid by cheque or bank transfer to Te Rūnanga o Ngāi Tahu. If you would like to make a bank transfer you can get our account details by clicking here and sending the email that pops up. This will generate a reply to your email with our bank details and what you need to do.
Payment
Full payment must be received six weeks prior to the start date of the booked course. You are welcome to pay your course fees in installments, as long as the full amount is paid six weeks before your course starts. Payment can be made by direct credit, cheque or cash (please do not send cash through the mail).
How do I apply?
To book on an Aoraki Bound course download the Aoraki Bound Application Form and post it in. Please note, your enrolment will not be complete until a deposit of $195 has been paid.
