Te Rūnanga o Ngāi Tahu and Canterbury Museum invite you to join us for the opening of this very special exhibition in the Robert McDougall Gallery at Canterbury Museum.
Te Hokinga Mai celebrates the return home of the Te Papa developed exhibition Mō Tātou: The Ngāi Tahu Whānui Exhibition. The exhibition is presented alongside the complementary show Mō Kā Uri: Taonga from Canterbury Museum.

Artists
Here we profile some of Ngāi Tahu's most well known, contemporary artists. They represent just the tip of a growing body of artists connected by their whakapapa and desire to express creative energy in photography, painting, sculture or installation art.
Many of them are at the vanguard of the Aotearoa (New Zealand) contemporary arts scene. Some of them already have international reputations, while others are most recognised nationally.

Pouwhenua - Markers on the Land
Simon Kaan, Areta Wilkinson, Martin Hill and Michel Tuffery
Four artists are working for a week in Wanaka during the Festival. They will work from the area and its stories and develop "markers on the land" – pouwhenua.
