The office of Te Rūnanga o Ngāi Tahu is a dynamic and contemporary organisation that exists to support the tribal institutions of Ngāi Tahu and to give effect to the aspirations of Ngāi Tahu Whānui guided by our vision of 'mō tātou, ā, mō kā uri ā muri ake nei' (for us and our children after us).
Principal Advisor – Office of the Chief Executive Officer (OCEO)
The OCEO encompasses the core work streams of Strategy and Influence and Group monitoring. This pivotal role is responsible for the provision of strategic and multi-disciplinary advice to the OCEO, Kaiwhakahaere and a variety of other functions within the Te Rūnanga Group.
We are looking to appoint an astute Principal Advisor who will play a major role in leading and coordinating, the work and advice arising from the OCEO. This includes analysis, research and environmental scanning to ensure the provision of high quality and integrated advice and support.
Applicants must bring extensive experience in a senior advisory position and have a proven track record in contemporary best practice governance, stakeholder communication and strategic relationship management. An in-depth knowledge and understanding of Treaty jurisprudence and the Te Rūnanga o Ngāi Tahu Act and Charter are critical to the role together with a post graduate qualification in law.
The successful candidate will be capable of working collaboratively with all parties involved to ensure that issues are dealt with in a timely and coordinated manner.
